Leipzig as part of te East Asian Squdadron looking after German interests in the area. ................................................................................................ Later on 1 Nov 1914 SMS Leipzig took part in the defeat of the British Naval force at the battle of Coronel where the British lost HMS Good Hope & Monmouth together with 1500+ sailors however on the 8 Dec at the Battle of Falkland Islands she was chased down by HMS Glasgow who opened fire, got hit by Leipzig & withdrew leaving HMS Cornwall & Kent to batter her remorsely until Capt. Haun scuttled his ship
