Intercepted by British in Hong Kong with on reverse violet framed P.B.C. hand stamp alongside Swatow (25 Jun) arrival cds & on face red ink endorsement "Tengyueh via Bhamo", sent down to Rangoon & with violet circular Passed By Censor /Arms /Rangoon (Davis Type 58) alongside Rangoon GPO /Sorting (11 Jul) transit & Tengyueh (21 Jul) arrival cds. ................................................................................................ A remarkable item 107 days in transit which Davis in Burma Postal History p153 makes reference to this card.... Lager 2 was Rennbahn, Munster racecourse see... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_prisoner-of war_camps_in_Germany#VII_Army_Corps_(Munster) .... There were four camps: Münster I was outside the city in open farming country, Münster II was at the racecourse, Münster III was a former Army barracks, and Münster IV was reserved for Russian prisoners.

ANZUK a tripartite force of Australia, New Zealand & British forces plus some civilians the purpose being to protect & defend the Asian Pacific region, formed 1 Nov 1971 & operational until 16 Dec 1974. At the same time South East Asian Treaty Organisation (SEATO) operational 1954-1977 an Alliance of 8 nations that included all ANZUK members existed their purpose being to suppress communalism with both ANZUK & SEATO duties overlapping & they did in fact work quite closely together

Monadnock, Asiatic Station printed envelope to Captain Franklin Hanford USN, Commandant, Naval Station, Cavite P.I. bearing Hong Kong QV 10c tied Victoria/Hong Kong cds & with on reverse Manila /Rec'd (12 Dec) arrival cds .......................................... U.S.S. Monadnock sailed on 26 December for Hong Kong and for the next five years, cruised the rivers of China, particularly the Yangtze, and along her coast to protect American interests. Between 27 January and 7 October 1901, she stood almost continuous duty at the mouth of the Yangtze protecting the foreign settlement at Shanghai, operating similarly on three further occasions: until she returned to Manila in 1905.
