During the Russo - Japanese War (Feb 1904 - August 1905) with the Russians withdrawing towards Harbin in early March 1905 that marked the end of the land fighting. The Japanese then apparently on 1 April withdrew the Field Post Offices in Korea in favour of using the conventional Japanese Postal System in Korea.

During the Russo - Japanese War (Feb 1904 - August 1905) with the Russians withdrawing towards Harbin in early March 1905 that marked the end of the land fighting. The Japanese then apparently on 1 April withdrew the Field Post Offices in Korea in favour of using the conventional Japanese Postal System in Korea.

WW2 Circa 1943 Photographic picture postcard showing view of school with inset picture of children studying to Tokyo from Hideo Karasawa U 50 (Truk Is) U 88 (4th Port Depot), with crimson framed Military Mail plus Censored hand stamps with latter having orange oval chop of Hiratuka the censoring officer with interesting message that writer has no access radio is isoloated from news & wants a newspaper sent.................................................................................. Truk Is. part of & west of the Caroline Is. with it's natural harbours was one of the main Japanese Naval bases in the South Pacific until Feb 1944 when US Aircraft carrier based planes attacked & destroyed a large quantity of Japanese naval vessels & land based intallations. Mail from Japanese stationed on Truk is rare

[19305] JAPAN…WW1 NAVAL FORCES In MEDITERREANEAN... . 1917 (Apr ) coloured stampless postcard entitled "Cairo-Native village near the Nil" to Captain Fujimori, War Ship Fuso, 1st Fleet from sailor Suzuki aboard Japanese Destroyer "Katsura", 10th Flotilla, 2nd Special Fleet, Port Said cancelled on arrival Yokohama (12 May) & with orange framed Gunji Yubin (Military Mail) + Ken-etsuzumi (Censored) & with interesting comment "This voyage with 4000 Japanese has passed peacefully and we now have an opportunity to show our work ................................................................................................. The 2nd Special Fleet ordered 7 February 1917 & consisted of Cruiser HIJMS "Akashi" plus 10th & 11th Destroyer Fleets each with 4 Battleships was assembled & left Singapore on 11 March reaching Port Said on 9 April & arriving Malta 13 April from where it was based. The flotilla was mainly employed on escort duties throughout the Mediterreanean & mail is understandably rare.
