Bearing India GV 1a & 3p overprinted I.E.F. tied poor Indian FPO 68 located Jeruselem & on reverse almost 100% unframed violet 5 lined Steamship mail for delivery to / Canal waters should be addressed / c/o POSTMASTER /CRISTOBAL, CANAL ZONE / and MUST include NAME OF SHIP + London (10 Jan 1921) transit datestamp. ............................................................................................... Despite wear to edges, some tears opened for display & trimmed a scarce item of redirected mail during the British presence in Palestine...The condition is reflected in the price.

Postal Guide of April 1887 at the end at the end of the 3rd Burma War show that civil post offices had been opened at 9 locations including Myinmu all of these had previously been Military posts in July 1886 and were again garrisoned during the Pacification period. Nice military item from this village that was later burnt by dacoits in May 1888

The Moulmein registered handstamp was used between 1876 - 1878 & the cancellation Davis & Martin type 31mm was used infrquently from 1875 to 1885 from Burmese Disbursing offices & is very scarce

Later to become Field-Marshal Maharaja Sri Teen Chandra Shumsher Junga Bahadur Rana, GCB, GCSI, GCVO, GCMG, FRGS (8 July 1863 – 26 November 1929) who was the Prime Minister of Nepal from the Rana dynasty 27 June 1901 until his death in 1929, after he successfully disposed his liberal and reformist brother Dev Shamsher. Although generally perceived as despotic and conservative, he is credited with several reforms including the abolition of slavery.

The 1/4th Battalion Royal West Kent Regiment were sent to India 30 Oct 1914 & on arrival were broken up & transferred to the Jubbulpore Brigade in the 5th (Mhow) Division of the Indian Army, a detachment was apparently sent to Kailana Camp a hill station in mountainous Uttarkhand about a couple of miles from Chakrata that sits at an altitude of around 7000 feet near the Himalayan foothills
