FPO 55 moved from Lysi Cyprus to lebanon in early May 43 stayed 3 weeks until arriving Ar. Rama, Palestine 31 May before moving to Eilabun at the end of June but remained Not Seen (Proud) until arriving in Zirin at the start of July...Scarce item

Domenico Bellantoni, Italian Palestine Detachment Junction E.E.F.from Italian Fra Benesletto bearing Palestine E.E.F. 1m brown & 2m green tied skeleton Army Post Office SZ 44 located Jerusalem & with very faint partial framed scalloped corners Palestine / Censorship / No. 3 & with at bottom strange character looking perhaps like a "J" but of unknown purpose. ............................................................................................... The Italians had a very small detachment of soldiers in Palestine, mail is extremely scarce

After the armistice Britain occupied parts of the former Ottoman Empire & in order to maintain stability 144 Turks were in stages deported & interned at Malta as Political Prisoners with the last of them being released during the latter part of October 1921...mail is not common

Censor 1076 was one of a block of 12 between 1074 -1085 that was issued & used in Malta from 19 Oct - 17 Nov 1914
