Austro-Hungary considered that Serbia was compliant in the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand & invaded the country late July 1914 paving the way for WW1. The allies particularly the French aided Serbia but some sources state Serbia lost 1.1m people from a total population of 4.5m, including 26% of the military force of 420,000 with civilian deaths attributed to epidemics of Typhus, Spanish flue, resistance against the Axis powers & starvation

The free postage concession for troops was withdrawn from 1 Jan 18...These wars commenced 12 Jan 1904 the result of disgruntlement among the indigenous tribes people & Samuel Maharero the chief of the Hottentot tribe killling 123 German soldiers & settlers near Okahandjar & initially with Germany only having 766 troops the upper hand was with the tribesmen until Germany drafted in 14,000 additional troops under General Von Trotha who was completely & utterly ruthless & had by Mar 1908 virtually destroyed the indigenous tribes people.
