Dorsetshire printed paper to Goudhurst, Kent bearing combination GB GV Photogravure 1d+ EDV111 ½d & 1½d tied Field Post Office 12 cds located aboard H.M.T. Dorsetshire & which opened for 2 hours daily from 19 to 22 September, the letter describing the service & saying to keep the letter..................Proud does not record any mail ............................................................................. A full scale uprising in April 1936 by Palestinian Arabs against British colonial rule in mandated territory resulted in Britain sending more troops and an Army Postal unit via H.M.T "Dorsetshire" where FPO 12 opened on board and a further 10 FPO's between numbers 15 - 26 on arrival the first opening on 1 October with the last closing on 10 January 1937 after problems had subsided by the end of 1936 only to reoccur again in September 1937.

( Riemer E - 53) label tied by violet circular Gepruft /Eagle Swastika /Obercommando der Wehrmacht (Riemer E - 2a) hand stamp plus PC 90 Opened By /Examiner 5502 label & pencil manuscript "Detained in Liverpool" .......Regeer probably escaping from Nazi oppression would have been interned in an Alien Internment Camp probaby at Huyton ... S.S. Beemsterdyk was mined on 26 January 1941 of the coast of Pembrokeshire.

[17868] AUSTRALIA - GB...WRECK MAIL from SS COMORIN DAMAGED by FIRE at COLOMBO ... 1930 (Feb 19) Plain envelope to London together with interesting letter that was probably incorrectly filed after mail was recovered with adhesive washed off & together with water stains & edge wear cancelled Melbourne /Vicoria machine date stamp & with boxed Damaged By Fire /On /S.S. Comorin h/s in black ................... The SS Comorin originally sailing from Freemantle on 3 March via Melbourne & whilst at Colombo a fire was discovered in No 3 which was put out by flooding the hold with sea water badly damaging the mails. The vessel continued onwards to the UK landing at Tilbury on 2 April & the mail was dried out at London & Bristol prior to being delivered.
