1919 (Aug 24) Plain stampless O.A.S. envelope with creases to left side addressed to Grand Hotel, Simla countersigned by Officer & cancelled on reverse Indian F.P.O. No 153 with Simla (26 Aug) arrival cds……… The third Afghan war 6 May – 8 Aug continued with what is known as late Afghan War throughout August that blended into the Waziristan campaign in the North West Frontier area where various tribes were troublesome & fighting continued against the British Indian forces in various areas of N.W.F & Baluchistan until Feb 1934 (FPO 169) & unfortunately remains a volatile area to this day.
