1945(May 9)Printed Air letter with typed content (in Polish) headed Polish Camp Chaplain, Ifunda P.O. Iringa to Consulat General of Poland, New York bearing K.U.T. 20c & 30c tied Iringa Sub (10 May) cds a fine item & scarcer camp……In 1942 Stalin released many Poles whotravelled with wives & families through Persia, from here the able men were formed into Military units and wives & children assisted by the allies continued towards the Middle East where they were mainly settled into Refugee Settlement camps in East Africa, Rhodesia, Tanganyika, Uganda. A total of 22 Camps existed some of which were very small. With children making up the vast majority of refugees mail is understandably scarce & from many camps still awaiting discovery..
