1918-19 Prisoners of War printed stampless envelope to Forsthaus from German held in Jersey POW camp cancelled with smudged circular Post Free /Prisoner od War /P.C hand stamp …..The Camp first opened 23 Mar 1915 for Officers & was closed 29 Aug 1917 when they were moved elsewhere. The Camp reopened 12 Apr 1918 to house NCO’s from other Camps on the mainland who had proved to be an irritation to Camp authorities and finally closed in October 1919….Ref POW in British Hands during WW1 Graham Mark
