1940(Apr 24) Plain envelope to Alexandria, Virginia endorsed Ala Littoria Trans Atlantic bearing 6 x 10m & 8 x 5m for a 100m rate tied Field Post Office 122 d/s with circular Passed By/RAF/Censor/No 5 h/s [Type R1] in violet & 2 horizontial Jusqu’a bars applied at the office of exchange indicating the continuation of service via surface means……[the 100m rate as annotated ceased on the 4 Apr however there was a service via BOAC via Lisbon & Panam costing 120m or alternatively via BOAC or others to West Africa & thence Panam at 100m however this was 2.5gm or less, this was correctly deemed underpaid & sent by surface from the office of exchange]
