Box 183, Yokohama bearing pair Sun Yat-sen 50c tied Shanghai cds & with Examined By /1552 label & on opposite side PC90 Opened By /Examiner 588 label ……This travelled by sea to San Francisco where label 1552 was applied then presumably bt train to the Eastern seaboard to cross the Atlantic…in the absence of arrival markings it is not possible to see if this reached the UK prior to the Japanese attacking Pearl Harbour on 8 December but it must have been mighty close..
