1869 (May 25) Mourning envelope Paris cancelled New York /12 cds which is 12c debit to France (3c US Inland + 9c Sea passage) & with Cherburh (5 Jun) arrival cds in blue overlaid by hand struck 8 (Decimes) being a French Due mark with on back unframed Short Paid hand stamp applied as prepayments of less than 15c were not recognised, and such letter were treated as Unpaid with 8 (decimes = 15c US) being due ………….Carried on American Packet direct to France
