1894 (Nov 2) QV ¼a Stationary card Ovptd bi-lingual GWALIOR & tied Gwalior State /Lashkar (3 Nov) cds to a Bassaut Rai, clerk, Brigade Office Waziristan Delimitation Escort, Dehra Ismail Khan & with 90% Dehra Ismail Khan (5 Nov) arrival cds….In 1893 a frontier settlement was agreed in Waziristan to demarcate the agreed border boundries between Afghanistan & India…In Oct 1894 an armed escort provided by India assembled at Dera Ismail Khan and marched via Khaturi Kach & Karab Kot to Wana arriving 25 Oct where Camp was set up. On 2 Nov Afghan tribesmen attacked the camp inflicting heavy casualties resulting in Dec 1894 of the formation of a Waziristan Field Force to punish the rebel Afghans….The card written the day after the Afghan attack & a rare item.
