1897 (Sep 5) 2a6p cut out from Stationary env cancelled by belted FPO No 23 d/s used during the Annual Chitral Relief [On 1st January 1895 the ruler was murdered, the ensuing disturbances resulted in the small British force being beseiged in Fort Chitral, a relief column was organised & the Fort relieved by end of April with a final evacuation of troops on 27 September, however each year from 1896-98 FPO’s accompanied an annual Chitral Relief force to show strengh and maintain order..Mail is very scarce]
