1905 (Dec 21) [38.12.21] Plain stampless envelope to Japan from Japanese soldier cancelled vernacular Hoeryeong /Chosen date stamp & with orange unframed Military Mail handstamp.

During the Russo – Japanese War (Feb 1904 – August 1905) with the Russians withdrawing towards Harbin in early March 1905 that marked the end of the land fighting. The Japanese then apparently on 1 April withdrew the Field Post Offices in Korea in favour of using the conventional Japanese Postal System in Korea.
