1914(Dec 30) & 1915(Jan 1) Pair envelopes from London to Fred Rothwell a Hospital Auxillary at the Majestic Hotel, Paris that served as a Military Hospital during WW1 which was largely staffed by well to do British Aristocrats the earlier bearing GB GV 1d & with Paris (1 Jan) transit & APO 75 (2 Jan) arrival cds. The other with strip 5 x ½d same Paris (2 Jan) transit & APO 75 (6 Jan) arrival cds……..This series of Double ring APO’s which ran from APO 21 – 100 (some later numbers never seen) had short lives typically from 13 Nov 1914 – 21 Jan 1915 & are in my opinion very under rated & should not be overlooked.
