1914 (Oct 14) Plain stampless envelope to Burley in Wharfdale cancelled unframed Received From H.M. Ship / No Charge to be Raised with G J. Allcock signature below together with large Crown over circular Canadian Overseas / Expeditionary Force with in centre Maple Leaf & Oct with manuscript 14th inserted & Field Post Office date stamp in mauve & on back Leeds 13 (16 Oct) transit cds ……..The first Canadian troops embarked 3 October 1914 aboard R.M.S. Franconia & landed Plymouth on the 15th & these scarce hammers were only used for a short period of time
