[Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry] 27th Div, British Expeditionary Force cancelled Army Base Post Office cds & with red square CM2 Passed By/No 2334/Censor & w/interesting content “Arrived here yesterday morning expect to move again tonight” ……………………..The PPCLI comprised mainly British men living in Canada crossing the Atlantic with the 1st Canadian covoy of Oct. 1914 & moving to France as part of 27 Division from Southampton on SS Cardiganshire arriving Le Harve 21 Dec …this is part of the 1st mail & Arthur Davis served with the battalion until KIA on 28th Feb 1915 near St. Eloi.
