1914(Jul 31) Lloyds Bank Ltd., printed envelope to Russian bank in St. Petersburg bearing GV 2½d tied London machine cancel. The item reached Germany (normal route for mail GB – Russia) but Germany had declared war on Russia 1 Aug rendering the item unable to move forward or be returned so the item remained in Germany & was eventually returned 9 Jul 1920 illustrated by a grid styled date stamp alongside bold ZURUCK…..Ex A.
