1914(Aug 7) Plain envelope bearing Germania 5c (2) tied Berlin cds to Korporal Tokayer, 63 Inf. Regt., Liebenburgen. 63 Inf Regt. was a Silesian unit ( Silesia was then in Prussia but now split between Poland & Germany) This Unit was mobilised 2 Aug 14 & sent immediately to the Eastern front with Silesian troops had their baptism of fire at Czenstochau on 3 Aug, where they repelled the 14th Russian Army Corps, including Cossack cavalry.The Unit was then ordered to deploy to France on 6 Aug travelling via Liebenburgen & carries 2 strikes of Feldpost Nr 37……………………A very interesting very early WW1 item
