1915 (Sep 27) Coloured stampless picture postcard entitled “Souvenir de Salonique” showing the Bay to Lady Spring-Rice, British Embassy, Washington DC & datelined 27 September 1915 from Taylor-Jones bearing Greece 10 lepta tied cyrillic Salonika cds (18 Sep in error for 28th) & with boxed Turkish vernacular Censor hand stamp in black & Galata/Arrivee (1 Oct) + Stamboul /Depart (3 Oct) transit cds……….. Interesting item mailed just prior to the combined French / British force that landed at Salonika early October & censored in Turkey who had declared war against Britain eleven months earlier on 28 Oct 1914
