The 1/4th Battalion Royal West Kent Regiment were sent to India 30 Oct 1914 & on arrival were broken up & transferred to the Jubbulpore Brigade in the 5th (Mhow) Division of the Indian Army, a detachment was apparently sent to Kailana Camp a hill station in mountainous Uttarkhand about a couple of miles from Chakrata that sits at an altitude of around 7000 feet near the Himalayan foothills
