…………………………………………………………………………………….
Austro-Hungary considered that Serbia was compliant in the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand & invaded the country late July 1914 paving the way for WW1. The allies particularly the French aided Serbia but some sources state Serbia lost 1.1m people from a total population of 4.5m, including 26% of the military force of 420,000 with civilian deaths attributed to epidemics of Typhus, Spanish flue, resistance against the Axis powers & starvation
