German forces invade 21 Oct 1917 Estonia proclaims Independence 28 November as a communist republic aided by Russia resulting in war between German & Russian forces. 24 Feb 1918 Estonia again proclaims independence but as a German protectorate, Russia 3 Mar after the treaty of Brest – Litovsk the independence accept this & 11 Nov German troops start withdrawing. On 22 Nov 1918 Russia again invades & the British Navy step in to protect Estonia.
