Lewis, 1/144th Infantry, Akhad Kothi, Bhartatapur endorsed On Active Service & cancelled on reverse Indian FPO 148 partly overlaid by Bharatpur/Dely [26 Dec] arrival d/s…………………….. After distinguished service during WW1 on the Western Front & East Africa the 40th Pathans served on the North West Frontier and the 3rd Afghan War this being a fine forerunner to that campaign
