1919 (Jun 13) Crested stampless O.A.S. envelope with stains addressed to Grand Hotel, Simla countersigned by Officer & with rare violet unframed PASSED / 50 /CENSOR & cancelled on reverse Indian F.P.O. No 145 with Simla (14 Jun) arrival cds……… The third Afghan war 6 May – 8 Aug with mail between these dates being extremely scarce continued with what is known as late Afghan War throughout August that blended into the Waziristan campaign in the North West Frontier area where various tribes were troublesome & fighting continued against the British Indian forces in various N.W.F. areas & Baluchistan until Feb 1934 (FPO 169) & unfortunately remains a volatile area to this day.
