1919 (Nov 22) Captured Austrian Feldpost Letter card to Bari from Italian soldier bearing on reverse across opening flap and thus severed but looking good Itay Victor Emmanuel 25 lira overprinted 25 centessimi di Corona tied Zara cds & with card headed Zara, Dalmatia with contents havily censored & blacked out & with violet circular Censura di Zara & 22 within circle & with on reverse Bari (27 Dec) arrival cds.

At the end of WW1 in Nov 1918 italian troops entered & occupied Zara & parts of Dalmatia in the belief that these would be granted to Italy, the 28 June 1919 Treaty of Versailles did not grant them Italy. On 12 September Gabriele D’ Annugio took Fiume & on 12 Nov 1920 Italy gave up Dalmatia but not Zara
