General Chandra Shumsher at Kathmandu from Birat Nagar bearing India GV ½a + 1a + 2a & oddly posted through & tied by the Indian / Nepalese border town of Jogbani with red ink R. 062 with below framed Jogbani /Branch Office /Purnea District & showing smudged what previous owner claims is British Residency (10 Jun) arrival cds with smudged black oval Crown /?? /?? below.

Later to become Field-Marshal Maharaja Sri Teen Chandra Shumsher Junga Bahadur Rana, GCB, GCSI, GCVO, GCMG, FRGS (8 July 1863 – 26 November 1929) who was the Prime Minister of Nepal from the Rana dynasty 27 June 1901 until his death in 1929, after he successfully disposed his liberal and reformist brother Dev Shamsher. Although generally perceived as despotic and conservative, he is credited with several reforms including the abolition of slavery.
