1920 (Sep 9) black & white picture postcard entitled Botanical Gardens, Singapore to Praha from member of the Czech legion being repatriated bearing Straits Settlements GV 4c tied Singapore /H cds with alongside superlative strike of Polni Posta /President Grant /Ceskoslovenskych Vojsk hand stamp …… President Wilson felt a moral obligation to assist in the repatriation of the remaining Czech legion from Siberia to the nearest seaport to their homeland of Czechoslovakia which was Trieste….11 US vessels took part in this exercise the President Grant being the only vessel to undertake 2 complete trips from Vladivostok to Trieste. This card was sent whilst en route on the 2nd trip that left Vladivostok 24 Aug arriving Trieste 13 Oct 1920……..Mail is rare
