Secteur Postale 608, Armee Du Levant cancelled Poste Aux Armees /608 cds with Stars……The Druse revolt across all Syria was a general uprising against the French style of rule with Sultan Pasha al-Atrash declaring revolution against the French on 23 Aug 1925 although fighting had begun earlier on 21 Jul. The French were initially overwhelmed but drafted in thousands of troops to regain control of many cities and try to restore order but bitter, vicious & fierce fighting continuted until spring 1927..Sultan Pasha al-Atrash was executed for his deeds.
