1935(Jan 30) Envelope headed Per S.S. “Majestic” via Southampton, addressed to Miss Sybil Beyers, 1st Class Passenger, S.S. “Chichibu Maru” c/o N.Y.L. Line, Los Angeles deleted in blue crayon & Sailing, S.F. added (presumably San Francisco) & with 3 x Southern Rhodesia GV 1d affixed tied smudgy Bulawayo / S. Rhodesia cds, pencil 18c added & on reverse a reurn address in pencil of Cape Town….The postal systems of 90 – 100 years ago prided themselves on getting mail delivered so even with the conglomerate of address’s and annotations it more than likely got delivered.
