1936 (Sep 24) Plain envelope by airmail to Abbottabad, NW Frontier, India bearing GV 6d tied Kilburn NW6 cds with water stains & shrinkage + mimeographed typed ” The accompanying package which was /washed ashore on the coast of England /was apparently conveyed by Imperial /Airways Airplane “Boadicea” which left /Croydon on the 24th September and failed /to arrive at Paris. /The inconvenience occasioned is /regretted /Returned letter Section /Mount Pleasant /London E.C.1 label ………………. Airmails for Africa, India & Australia were loaded on Imperial Airways “Boadicea” at Croydon on 25 September 1936. The aircraft disappeared over the English Channel. One bag of mail was washed ashore at Cucq just south of Le Touqet on 27 Oct, another at Dymchurch on 11 Nov & a 3rd bag brought up by trawler nets 19 months later
