S.P. 390, France from Adolf Mouteur Honek, Skoda Works Kaboul, Sucrerie Baghlan, Afghanistan bearing on face 15 Afs & 10 Afs & reverse 3 x 10 Afs + single 15 Afs & 20 Afs all tied with ink 19/5/50 (maybe should have been 19/5/40 !) & with violet Registered hand stamp with K – 238 inserted then forwarded with violet indelible pencil Voir Mission de Rapatriement Tchecoslovaguie BPM 501 & with small portion Military Post label with manuscript Voir Rᵀ Pᵀ des Champs Paris V111 with on left side red on pink OPENED BUT UNCENSORED / Arms / PASSED TO………FOR CENSORSHIP label with ink Bombay inserted (a very scarce label) overlaid by red on white Arms / OPENED BY CENSOR label with manuscript 3 added (CCSG 8C5 recorded used Apr 40 – Nov 42) with on opposite side PC 90 OPENED BY EXAMINER 4317 label & on reverse Kabul (2? May) despatch + blue Army Postal Service A.P.O. /17 B.P.O. (19 Jan 1946) located Paris + violet New York N.Y. U.S. Army Postal Service Br. A.P.O. 407 + similar in black for A.P.O. 403 both (22 Jan) & located Munich & then back to Paris with black U.S.Army Postal Service A.P.O. /17 (6 Feb) transit cds ……….A rare cover with faults but facsinating at the same time clearly mailed in 1940 with adhesives marked 1950 & delayed somewhere until 1946 by which time he had been repatriated ….perhaps the German invasion of the low countries was a contributor to the delay of this extraordinary item
