1940(Jul)Plain undated stampless envelope to Barclay’s Bank, Devonport from Acting Pilot Officer H.B. Jones, RAF Volunteer Reserve with framed anonymous RECEIVED FROM / H.M. SHIPS with alonside bold violet PASSED BY / R.A.F./ CENSOR No. 303 (type RAF R2)… A RAF Censor on clearly Naval mail is almost unheard of & it is believed this mail is from MV Reina del Paciifico a Pacific Steam Navigation Co. vessel who made 2 voyages to Suez via the Cape. First voyage left 24 Jul 1940 & carried RAF personnel on board with their Spifires being carried on HMS Argus. This is confirmed by Colley who states that 2 records are known of R2 / 303 believed carried by this vessel
