Soudan 35c & 65c tied partial Koutiala /Soudan Francaise cds & with blue violet unframed Retour A L’Envoyeur /Relations Postales /Interrompues (Return to Sender postal Relations are Interupted) hand stamp & on reverse unclear transit cds ……… Germany invaded France in May 1940 & after the armistice of 22 June divided the country into an Occupied Zone & Unoccpied Zone administered by Vichy France. Germany placed severe restictions on mail entering & leaving the occupied zone. French Soudan had allied themselves to the Free French on 3 July 1940.
