KYW Building, 1621 Walnut Street, Philadelphia, PA printed Corner envelope to Wagons Lits Cook, Amsterdam bearing US 5c Prexie perfinned T C S (Thomas Cook & Son) & with GB Examiner 5271 label ………Thomas Cook & Wagons Lits were part of the same company, Thomas Cook were contracted by the British Government to operate a clandestine mail operation to transmit mail from Germany & other Occupied areas to GB initially from Amsterdam and Wagons Lits were involved due to their extensive European office locations. The operation from Amsterdam ceased in the 1st quarter of 1940 & the entire Thomas Cook operation was moved to Lisbon.
