Kirk, Prisoner of War of Italians, Forte Cadorna, Eritrea via Red Cross in Geneva & with violet circular DEPUTY CHIEF FIELD CENSOR transit handstamp & large red 42mm circular Red Cross cachet….An extra ordinary POW item to Kirk of 94 RAF Squadron based out of Sheikh Othman, Aden who with others on 6 Nov 1940 were providing RAF air support for ground forces attacking Gallabat…..See:- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/East_African_Campaign_(World_War_II)#Anglo-Egyptian_Sudan …Kirk apparently baled out was captured and interned. By the end of April 1941 East Africa was firmly under the control of the Allies so presumably Kirk was released which goes part way to dating this remarkable & great cover.
