1941 (Dec 8) Airmail envelope to Cardiff endorsed Clipper bearing Fiscals 2/6 & 5/- + GV1 definitive 3d making a 7/9 rate tied Auckland cds & with Opened By Censor in New Zealand label tied circular Passed By Censor N.Z. /105 h/s in violet ……The datestamp does not show a time however even if posted at 6.00 pm 8 Dec allowing for time difference & International dateline it would still be 4.00 pm 7 Dec at Honolulu the day of the Japanese attack that commenced at 8.00 am on the 7th…..This item did not transit Hawaii and was probably diverted Westwards….scarce Pearl harbour related item.
