1941(Jun 24) Plain Censored envelope bearing 9d tied Wellington cds to Sgt. 7662 H.P.Donnelly, of 20th Battalion, 2nd N.Z.E.F., with boxed DECEASED / RETURN TO SENDER overlaid by Pointing Finger RETURN TO SENDER with on reverse another strike directed to sender address… This unit had fought a fighting withdrawal and evacuation from Greece to Crete only to encounter the German onslaught & occupation of Crete at the end of May 1941 where presumably Sgt Donnelly lost his life.
