1942(Jun 19) after 3.5 after the fall of Singapore the first cards were issued to the POW’s, this undated card with central vertical crease from T/218843 Dvr Lancaster A to his Mother in Skipton is brief and to the point & shows the violet Marai that was omitted in the original printing & the orange oval censor seal of Okazaki plus British Censor 3502 applied on arrival in July/August 1943 with the first arrival reported to be 21 July 1943 some 17 months after capture ..This item is illustrated on page 199 of Vol 1 of Tetts wonderful series of books on this subject..
