Regt, 2nd Batt., 8th Coy, P.M. 95 cancelled Posta Militare N. 95 cds located at Ollioules & with violet framed Unit cachet + 8 within circle unframed 154 hand stamps & closing flap is partial Verificato per Censura label tied partial violet circular Commissione Provinciale /81 /R /Censura alongside black Restituita Posta al per L’Inoltro (6 Aug) cds (Return for mail forwarding to) & red crayon underlining date + manuscript Francia below……………………. ………………….Marchese records P.M. 95 used by the Italian occupation forces at Ollioules in France 16 Dec 42 to 6 Sep 43…The reason for the Returned cds is not clear but on the 25th July the Fascist governnment had been overthrown & Mussolini imprisoned clearly causing some disruption to the mails.
