1943 (Nov 18) Printed 3½c DAI NIPPON Kartoepos with Japanese characters above cancelled Oawano cds from J. Gosewisch, SBR. Kembari, Lawang that was Lawang Military POW Camp, endorsed in red ink Tawanan Militer (Military Prisoner) & with framed (55.5 x 13mm)red Furyo Yubin (Prisoner of War Post) addressed to P.N.A. Gosewisch with pencil Kamioka (which was Nakoya 1B) & then red crayon Tawanan (underlined), Landstorm, Osaka P.O.W. Camp, Kamioka Sub Camp …Lead & Zinc was mined at Kamioka a smallish camp holding about 500 prisoners (305 were Dutch) had a nortorious reputation for working the prisoners relentlessly, with poor rations and accomodation the Prisoners had to decend 200 steps to the mining mouth & work long hours before having to climb back up the stairs before collapsing from tiredness…Tett in Volume 6 on page 97 shows another cover to this prisoner..
