Description
1944(Nov 14)Army Form W3077 Air Letter to Box 236, London (Free French Air Force accommodation undercover address) with long message from female bearing Algeria 5f tied unreadable cds & with CONTROLE label tied pointed oval Ouvert / TA 317 / Par les Autorites du Controle that obscurers red on white USAGERS CIVILS / SEULEMENT label (Restricted to Civilians) & with blue crayon EASC (probably a RAF unit designation). Re-directed using RAF Form 1674 to RAF Sywell & with circular POST ROOM / RAF / SEATON PARK …..Very unusual usage much of which I am unfamiliar with yet it appears to be from an area restricted to civilians only & research say’s, No, Desaix is not a city, town, village, or hamlet in Algeria. The name “Desaix” is not associated with any settlement in Algeria. The most likely explanation is that “Desaix” is a place name or surname originating from elsewhere, and it doesn’t have a direct connection to any Algerian location.
