Description

1944 (Jun 26) Plain envelope to London together with letter strangely written in German! From A. Bryant, 539 Coy RASC, APO England bearing GV1 defiitive 2½d tied partial Belfast cds & with red Crown over circular Passed By Censor /2323 hand stamp …… An interesting & strange item Bryant’s army number appears to have too many digits & even if the first & last are brackets it’s still too high… APO England was an undercover address for security purposes used during the build up & during the initial stages of the “D” day Normandy landings …………………………………………
……………………………………….Odd item that further research could pay dividends.
