Box 4001, Nairobi with R /Nairobi 10 Kenya /No 1434 registration label & cancelled on back Nairobi /Kenya (22 Mar) cds & with Registered /Mombassa (23 Mar) arrival cds……………The Mau Mau rebellion first kindled itself in Aug 1952 & by Oct troops from Britain had been flown in & a State of Emergency was declared on the 20th lasting until December 1959 by which time 10,000 Mau Mau members were dead & 80,000 suspects detained.
