1962(Dec 31) Printed airmail envelope to Luang Prabang bearing pair Soldiers with Royal Laotian flag 2k [SG N2] tied Phonsavanh datestamp & with on reverse Vientiene [11 Feb 63] transit & Luang Prabang [14 Feb] arrival datestamps ……………………….On 8 August 1960 Captain Kong Le carried out a coup, installing Prince Souvanna Phouma as Prime Minister with the consent of the King, only to be defeated on 16 December 1960 by General Nosavan who installed Prince Boun Oum as Head of Government. Kong Le’s forces together with Prince Souvanna’s cabinet retreated to the Plain of Jars & established a neuralist government. The influence grew & on 22 Jun 1962 the King installed a coalition government in Vientiane but sporadic fighting continued. On 1 Jun 1964 The Pathet lao withdrew their government officials from Vientiane as fighting in the Plain of Jars became more intense as the involvement with the Viet Nam war grew………Mail is rare & stamps are unpriced by SG used
