1917 (Dec 26) Envelope front with chamfered corners to Army Navy Stores, London S.W.1 bearing GV 1d tied London, Buy National War Bonds Now slogan & with unframed violet Passed by Censor & superb blue HOSPITAL SHIP / QUEEN ALEXANDRA… This was actually HMY Queen Alexandra Royal yacht built & completed at Glasgow in 1908 & served as a Hospital Ship 1914-18. Little used after WW1 & decommissioned in 1922, then sold to a Norwegian Shipping Co. in 1925 for GBP 25,000. Unfortunately I cannot find any service details as a Hospital Ship during WW1.
