An Independent Arab Sheikdom since 1756 that placed itself under British protection in 1899 to counter Ottoman ambitions in the Persian Gulf. With the appointment of a Political Agent a Postal Service began in 1904 via Bushire until 1915 when a regular Indian Post Office was established using Indian stamps.
