1917(Feb 12) Stampless battered, torn & soiled envelope from a member of the Fijian contingent cancelled APO R.W.5 cds of the 5th Australian Railhead located in the Albert area of France between 18 Oct 1916 – 7 Mar 1917 & with on reverse Lautoka (9 Apr 17) arrival cds….At the outbreak of War many colonial patriots from mainly the larger colonial areas of India, Canada, Australia & New Zealand joined the British against the oppressors, however also volunteers & later Conscripts including from Newfoundland, African nations plus smaller West Indian & Pacific Islands joined & these are rare seldom seen or offered.
